【Object ive】The ministernotomy approach was designed to perfo rm thymectomy for my asthenia g ravis in order to lessen surgical trauma and made cosmetically effectiveness .A series of patients were studied fo r evaluating its feasibility .【Methods】10 patient s with myasthenia gravis were underw ent thymectomy
including 9 thymic hyperplasia and 1 thymoma .【Resul ts】All the patients w ere perfo rmed w ith the prospective procedure successfully .No operative deaths and complications happened .There w ere lesser blood loss
and lig hter postoperat ion pain .The patients' recovery and wound healing w ere excellent .【Conclusions】Minimal-access median sternotomy could be used in thymecyomy safely
it made a good operative result w ith limited surgical trauma and excellent cosmectical effectiveness .
